ACT Committees
Members are encouraged to join one committee. Most committees are still being formed (as of May 2007). Contact the President if you would like to join or lead a committee. Committee leaders comprise the ACT Advisory Board.
Fundraising:
This committee will be responsible for compiling a database for fundraising ideas, and to field these ideas to the rest of our organization, and also to help in organizaing these ideas.
Foster:
This committee is on hold. This group will be formed to build a database of available foster homes within our organization, and work closely with the rescue and transport committee's to help the animals within our organization.
Operations:
This committee plans for and responds to disasters in the field to provide animal rescue and relief. Members must be certified in Search & Rescue or have disaster experience with some type of Certification. Members must become qualified to work as part of a team in an Incident Command Structure.
Rescue:
This committee will be involved with contacting rescues who may be able to accept animals, and also setting up adoption days. And also compiling a list of foster homes, and compiling information for rescue and foster for disaster situations.
Supply:
This Committee will be for members to compile databases for supplies we have on hand, and supplies we need and for making sure that these supplies are transported to the places that need them. They will also find necessary resources for supplies during disaster situations.
Technology:
The ACT-Technology group will provide technical support to the Animal Crisis Team organization via the ACT committees and ACT officers for internet information services, including Research and Development; web site support; online databases; online spreadsheets; online document management; wiki support; blog support; content management services; messaging services; and online mapping services for resources, transports and incident management.
Transportation:
This Committee will be involved with compiling lines of transport all across the US, for the rescues willing to accept pets into their rescues, and for the adoption days. They will also be compiling databases of those who wish to volunteer to transport. And those who will transport supplies, and at times during disaster situations.
